In caring roles, the chaos and crises of others can quickly become our own.
In caring roles, you’re often walking alongside people in crisis. You listen, support, and problem-solve under pressure. But when the chaos and crises of others becomes your everyday, it can start to seep into your own life.
Boundaries aren’t about not caring. They’re how you care sustainably.
How to build better boundaries:
End your day with a clear routine, even five minutes helps.
Use phrases like, “That’s something I’ll need to follow up tomorrow.”
Step away from your desk for proper breaks, not just a scroll.
Talk through tough cases, don’t carry them alone.
Remember that being kind includes being kind to yourself.
Let’s remind ourselves: boundaries aren’t about turning away. They’re how we stay strong enough to keep showing up.
