Self-Worth & Confidence: More Than Just a Feeling

Self-worth and confidence aren’t luxuries, they’re essentials, especially for those of us in caring professions. We spend so much time uplifting others that we often forget to check in with ourselves. Remember, you matter, too. Your worth isn’t tied to how much you give, how many problems you solve, or how tirelessly you work. It simply is.

Many of us have been conditioned to believe that self-worth comes from external validation, a job title, a thank-you, or well-done. Real confidence grows from within.

It’s the quiet assurance that you are enough, just as you are. No need for grand gestures or constant self-sacrifice.

So, how do we nurture self-worth?

Start small. Speak to yourself with kindness, would you talk to a friend the way you talk to yourself?

Challenge those inner doubts with facts: you’ve overcome obstacles, made a difference, and shown up even when it was tough.

Celebrate your wins, no matter how small, and most importantly, allow yourself to receive the care you so freely give to others.

Confidence doesn’t mean never feeling uncertain; it means showing up despite the uncertainty. It’s about stepping into your worth without waiting for permission.

If you need a reminder...You’re doing better than you think...not when you’re thinner, richer, or have matching socks … but right now.  You are already brilliant, just as you are. 😊
