When everything feels too much, your nervous system is often the first to wave the red flag. The good news? You don’t need an hour off, a retreat, or a perfectly calm day to reset. Sometimes, 60 seconds is enough.
Here’s a simple, science backed reset you can do anywhere.
1. Breathe with intention (30 seconds) Breathe in for 4… Hold for 4… Breathe out for 4…
This rhythmic breathing gently signals to your body that you are safe, slowing your heart rate and calming your stress response.
2. Release tension (20 seconds) Slowly stretch your neck and shoulders. Roll them, shrug them, soften them. Stress loves to live here. Movement helps it loosen its grip.
3. Re-hydrate and ground (10 seconds) Take a sip of water. Feel it move through your body. Hydration supports focus, energy, and regulation more than we realise.
That’s it! One minute. No pressure. No perfection.
Small pauses like this tell your nervous system, “I’ve got you.” Over time, those moments add up, they don't have to be big, just beneficial.
Your nervous system will thank you
