Emotional Labour is Real, and It’s Exhausting

It’s not just what you do, it’s how much you care. Listening with empathy, staying calm under stress, being a steady presence for others. It all adds up, and it takes its toll.
Emotional labour is invisible, but its effects are real. If you’re feeling tired to your bones, it’s not weakness, it’s the weight of caring.
Ways to ease emotional exhaustion:
Name it...what you’re feeling is valid.
Create space after difficult conversations to decompress.
Practice short, daily resets (breathwork, fresh air, movement).
Don’t apologise for needing time off...you’ve earned it.
Reconnect with the why behind your work, gently.
